THE INSPIRATION
The first family event we would celebrate without my dad would
be my brother's wedding. I desperately wanted my brother and his bride to feel my dad's presence on their special day,
but didn't know how to make this happen.
The inspiration for the Wedding Signature Cloth was found in a
collection of memories of my dad. Its inception is a tribute to his creativity and it serves as an expression of our
connected spirits.
A FUNNY THING ABOUT DAD
Dad had an incredible gift for creative thinking - and often expressed
this gift in the form of drawing or writing. As kids, we all got a luagh when we would talk about how dad could never
leave a restaurant without leaving his mark on something - a cocktail napkin, staw paper, paper placemat, the back of the
check....
DAD'S
PRESENCE
Two weeks before my brother's
wedding, I found an old letter from my dad in a kitchen drawer. As I read the letter, I treasured the connection I felt to
him through his hand written words. His signature at the end of the letter struck my heart and gave me the inspiration
for what would become A Signature Presence.
I started sewing with my dad's love in my heart - each stitch was
filled with precious family memories and wonderous thoughts of my brother and his bride as they began their life together.
THE CIRCLE OF LIFE
In
the center of the first Wedding Signature Cloth sits a circle of beads representing The Circle of Life, and just outside the
The Circle of Life sits my dad's signature - traced from the letter that I found just before the wedding.
As each moment in our lives connects us to our past, present and future, The Circle of Life is formed.
